Love Handles Don’t have to be Hard to Lose

If someone says that you have love handles, it’s really a nice way of saying that you are carrying around extra fat. If these “handles” were simply there to make it easier to hold onto loved ones, who could complain about that? The truth, however, is that love handles are really just a euphemism for unhealthy pockets of fat around the midsection. Some people have love handles so prominent that they hang over the waistband of their pants. Someone with this appearance is also said to have a “muffin top.” The good news is that you do not have to live with these handles or muffin tops. You simply have to make up your mind that you’ve lived with your love handles long enough and are ready to lose some weight. Here are some things you can do to lose weight and inches.

Exercise is of course the best way to get rid of them. What you want to accomplish can’t be done with just any exercise. In order to reduce body fat you must focus on aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise raises your heart rate and gets blood flowing. Aerobic exercise demands more energy causing your body to burn more fat. An exercise routine which includes at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise at least three times a week will help you accomplish your goal. In order to really burn some fat you will need to increase that to 4 if not 5 times per week.

Weight training can be a good way to supplement other forms of exercising that you are doing. You will benefit in different ways from weight training than you will from other forms. Your regular exercise routine will become easier because of the increased muscle mass resulting from your weight training and you will also notice a greater metabolic response. You will benefit from the increased metabolism in the rate at which your body burns fat.

You can do a lot more in general if the muscles in your back are strong. Among other things, it’s good to get rid of any back fat you may have, which will help to get rid of any muffin top. Strong back muscles can also help you practice proper posture and help you be better prepared for heavy lifting and extended workouts. Of course you need to work on the rest of your body as well, not just your back!

If you are committed to getting rid of your love handles, you can do it. With consistent effort, you can lose weight in the areas where you need to. You must be committed to making some changes in the way you live, but if you do you can lose that weight. If you stick to a healthy routine, your waist size will begin to shrink!
